Moms and Tot’s Gardening Classes
This is a first for me, and something I’ve wanted to do for many years now. One of my
neighbors did a day care at her home and several years back now, she asked if ‘her kids’ could come and take a closer look at our gardens. I was tickled, and frankly quite taken with these three to five year olds attitudes and inherent respect for the garden. It touched me…like one of Oprah’s AHA moments! In order to keep these classes small, for one on one, hands on projects, I may be offering this class twice a week.
Most classes will be held at the Kittredge Community Garden, where we hope to establish at least one children’s garden this year. A one time or seasonal fee of $25 will go to support the efforts of the community garden; however, these classes will be FREE to those holding a family membership in the Kittredge Civic Association! This class will be organized by the Moms who want to participate and will geared to different age groups of the kids participating, so hopefully both Moms and kids will learn and grow! My hope is that you all can start a small garden at your own home as well.
You don’t have to be a member of the Kittredge Community to participate in this class, however the class itself will be structured around what this community wants and needs.
Hopeful start date on these classes will be mid to late May! I’ll post more information here as it becomes available.
This class is not yet on the registration form so please email me directly with you interest. I’ll get back to you as soon as possible. While I prefer to use the email, you may contact me by phone if email is not available.
